Objective
"Whispers of Spring" offers a typographic interpretation of a haiku in an 8-page booklet. The featured haiku, “The west wind whispered / and touched the eyelids of spring / her eyes, primroses” by R.M. Handsard, is conveyed through the typographic visual system.

Front Cover
The cover introduces the west wind conveyed through the thin horizontal and circle outlines. The black background alludes to the beginning of the poem taking place in the winter. 
First Spread
Thin line weights and dashed lines continue to represent the lightness of the wind. The tracked-out typography additionally represents the flow of the wind.
Second Spread
Thin line weights and dashed lines evoke the lightness of the wind and the widely spaced typography further mirrors its airy flow. The black and white background split illustrates the transition from a dark winter to a bright spring.

Third Spread
The filled circles vary in scale & are layered with multiple outlines to symbolize the blooming of primroses in spring.
Back Cover
The back cover summarizes the visual language established in the booklet by incorporating the expanding circle outlines and the horizontal parallel line groupings.
