Objective
Göldi’s is a cafe in the picturesque Simmental Valley in Switzerland. The cafe sits along the trailside, serving as a sanctuary for travelers, bikers, and hikers along the trail. It is a family-run establishment that offers an educational experience for its visitors. It incorporates the history of the witch trials in the Valais trials, as the Cafe was named after the last woman who was killed in Switzerland’s witch trials.
Adventure, education, and trust are the three core values of Göldi’s. The visual identity of the Göldis is explored through the cafe’s wordmark, menu, website, and postcard.

The first column explored the brand’s core value of adventure. Adventure is conveyed with the condensed modifications and embellished features, like the G in the middle wordmark. The second column centered on the theme of education. Because the cafe highlights the Swiss witch trials in the 1700s, an Old Style typeface was explored in this ideation. The third column focused on the theme of trust, exemplified in the roundness of the letterforms.
